Open: Software development for network security scanner OpenVAS

This position offers a wide range of tasks around OpenVAS. More specifically this is: Software development in C, developing test routines for network security problems in NASL (C-like), integration of further security tools and of course a lot of community work for the Free Software OpenVAS.

Open: Software development for Geosgraphic Information Systems (GIS)

Intevation Geospatial is focused on Application Development, Professional Support, Consultung and Training around Free and Open Source GIS software. WebGIS, Desktop-GIS, Geodatabases and securing Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDI) are some central topics. We are customer-oriented, product-independent and we use well-known projects like PostGIS, UMN MapServer, deegree, Openlayers e.g. within our daily projects. Furthermore, we also develop new componenents (like InteProxy, OSAAS, WebFLYS-ÜSK, Plugins for OpenJump, ...), everything as Free and Open Source components and also experiment with new approaches to different solutions. Our Geospatial-Team seeks for a new employee ideally based on the following properties:

• good understanding of Free and Open Source Software and its communities
• ability to work in a team and also independently
• good communication-skills
• fluent in English and German
• experience with GNU/Linux working environments
• very good experience (+4 years minimum) in software development within Java, JavaScript, Python and its corresponding practices. Skills in one of the above Free Software projects is a plus, but not mandatory.
• strong knowledge and experience with the specifications of the Open Geospatial Consultung (OGC) like W*S, SLD, FE, GML

Intevation offers care for interesting challenges in various areas. Free Software will always play a major role. With the FreeGIS project many topics in the field of GIS are possible. Your own proposals for an internship are welcome.

If you are interested, please get in contact with us. Intevation has 1-2 seats for internships. The tasks are discussed individually and are not limited to routine work. It is rather our intention to transfer knowledge and experience with Free Software and the choosen topics.
